Sarah-Taïssir Bencharif is a freelance journalist and emergency medicine resident physician at the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Canada.
Sarah-Taïssir hopes to become a doctor-journalist. Prior to her training in emergency medicine, she completed her family medicine residency at McGill University in 2018, and is a Certificant of the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) of Canada. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine at Queen’s University after her Master of Journalism at Ryerson University. Before her graduate studies, she obtained two bachelors of science from Queen’s University in 2009 and 2010, one in biology and the other in environmental sciences with a minor in French studies.
Sarah-Taïssir is fluent in three languages: Arabic, French, English, and has an intermediate level in Spanish. She loves to read and to travel and meet new people across the world on adventures. She enjoys writing about health, science, travel, politics, and human rights.
